Buffy Sainte-Marie is one of my folk music heroines. I have a lot of her records (mostly vinyls), played her old songs on guitar and I finally saw her live with her band 3 years ago in Cologne when she was 69. A great energetic show, old and new songs and an impressive light show in an old church. Afterwards she talked with us and signed our two old Buffy songbooks. (Her songbook is rare over here and people waiting with us were curious and jealous.) The drummer also signed his slightly broken drum stick and gave it to me. It was a wonderful evening and one of my favorite concerts.
speaking of music heros, audience recordings of the current Who tour are already online. The Columbus 02-17 recording I found is sadly unlistenable, but Louisville 02-16 is quite good. Not bad for a bunch of old musicians
Birgit, with a ten piece band the show was good but it walks a very fine line of nostalgia and a lack of relevance.
Meanwhile in Lyon France, TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (the preferred football team of KTCC) scored at the end of the game to draw 1-1 and win over two legs by an aggregate score of 3-2. In case you haven’t seen it, here is Dembele’s crackerjack effort and we move in to the last 16 of the Europa Cup and a date with Inter Milan.
I very much hope that they put on a good show for your and Gracie. I might possibly be watching at work and like not really working.
The Trip to White Hart Lane will be part of our forthcoming trip to London. We are hoping to see Helen Mirren in “The Audience”, tickets are almost sold out for the run in the West End
