Take "Muswell Hillbilly" - Ray storms that he is a 20th Centruty man but really doesnt want to be, and in the spirit of Village Green Preservation Society, laments the passing of his neighborhoods in North London.
With Auturm Almanac I like to imagine Ray enjoying a quiet afternoon in the back garden after a lunchtime down the local.

The new Katmah is quite flamboyant and very attractive.

My Dear Hedley,
This was an easy choice as I have always been a Kinks fan. Just as you've said, they never got the acclaim they deserved. It's so easy to love a song which begins with, "From the dew-soaked hedge creeps a crawly caterpillar."

I think I have played Waterloo Sunset three for four times here and on the old Coffee. I always reserve the right to repeat favorites, and that is one of them.

Now that I have expanded my genres I get to play so much more of the music I like, and I love surprising you with my choices.

Everybody's favorite Muswell Hillbilly always had the ability to produce something spectacular, and this is one such song. The Kinks were never going to achieve the popular acclaim of some of their peer group perhaps because their songs were so time and place specific.
If you hear "I met her in a club down in Old Soho" you know exactly what is coming and I have often expressed that Waterloo Sunset is the perfect song.
Ray tours these days without Dave, but he does attract enough attention to fill the Albert Hall.(im6 dont)
Great song, great choice Katmah - I wil look forward to a week filled with goodies and surprises.
