Gracie has been sleeping on the bed with Lou, my sitter, so she is still enjoying the perks. Lou, though, is a bit scared to take Gracie out as Lou is old and Gracie will escape if given the chance. She’ll wiggle out of her collar. I know her tricks but Lou does not.

I got a beautiful piece of cloth which is now being made into a shirt, I also enjoy negotiating the price. I know here the price for white men is very high so I start very low and we move from there. I do have the benefit of my students who are more than willing to bargain for me. I bought “pear” (avocado) for 1 Ghana cedi. The peace Corps volunteer bought one the same day for 3.

I love it-the check bouncing!!!

My old girls want me back in 2 years after I save my money to come again!!

I love the background of the FraFra song. That is northern Ghana, my favorite part of the country, bleak as it is in the dry season. That’s when it seems the first video was made.

There is a popular singer in Ghana who sings in English and FraFra and he uses that fiddle. It has a wonderful sound especially added to the drums.

Ghana is populated with all sorts of babies now: goats, cattle, Guinea fowl and chickens and more chickens, all in different stages of growth. I love watching them.

I miss Gracie and Fern and Maddie. It is Maddie I worry the most about as she lost her hair from nerves last year. I am hoping she’ll not be bald!

The roads are crowded and the drivers manic, but I figure I’ll survive!
