I figure it’s when you’re young that traveling is a great way to live. There are few encumbrances, no mortgage payments and no children to worry about, but I can understand how touring and living out of a suitcase can get tiring.

it seems a huge jump from guitar to law degree, but I’m guessing it’s been on his mind a while.

He has all of those memories, couldn’t get neater than that.

Yea, thanks. Certainly will be different. His wife has family in Baton Rouge, so that helps the transition.

St James (not her real name) is an Aussie and got married herself last year, so I suspect she will cut back on the touring anyway. Early 30′s so she waited a long time. She’s is easily one of the woman vets in CC, been playing and been popular maybe going on a dozen years. She’s a panelist on Hannity about once a month, have no idea how that hooked up.

He never liked touring much, which I thought was odd for a young fella. Got him to Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and a bunch of places. You would think he’d be “living the dream”, but he is quite nonchalant about it. And I swear he’s the luckiest kid around, he made it on Jay Leno’s walk-about with Plumb and was on two of the other late night shows, one with Matt Maher, and with someone else I can’t remember. Some of these solo acts don’t have a standing band, so they just hire musicians to go with them on tour. He lived in Nashville at the time (went to Belmont, which is a well-known music/music business school). A lot of CC artists have home base in Nashville. But still whats the odds of being on 3 of the late night shows playing temporary gigs. About a zillion to 1. Sheesh.

Good music is good music, and you know it when you hear. Blues, rock, folk. These days I punch the country button, rock, contemporary Christian when a commercial comes on.

Here’s something for ya, my son Greg, yellow guitar on the right w. beard and hat. He toured with Rebecca St James for like 3 years. Got married and figured out touring was fun, but reality of making a living struck home. Starting law school at LSU in a few days, though lawyering is certainly swinging low at the moment. Anyway, enjoy I hope!

HW III is hard hard country, when he’s not metal rocking. He’s had his own share of trouble with alcohol & drugs. He can sound like Hank Sr and does so on some songs. Got some solid songs, he can get real crude too, like some of Coe’s off brand stuff. Not much of a relationship between father and son.

I have heard a few of his songs but knew nothing about his background. You given me more than I ever knew.

When I was looking up Bocephus, I found out there is also a Hank Williams 3 and I found a few songs on youtube. I don’t know if he sounds like his granddad or his dad. He seems to have a different sound than either of them.

His daddy of course is legend and Hank Jr is a main man in country music unto himself. Came close to dying in a fall while mountain climbing, Tore up his face which is in part why he still sports a beard & sunglasses. Some folks say the long rehab was transformational in that he moved from the shadow of his father reputation into his own right. His songs are not elegant, but they all have good melody and usually a theme or story to tell. Does some fun tunes as well. Always has a smile on his face and a gracious fellow anytime you see him in public setting.

You got me Googling again. When I heard the lyrics, I went to find more about his father. I knew he had died young but I didn’t realize it was due to drugs and alcohol. I understood his family tradition.
